Our Program

At OASIS, we combine outdoor exercise with community interaction and functional curriculum to maximize our students’ learning and engagement. Our staff and students are always on the move— developing real-world skills for today and the road ahead.

Community Ties

Being part of the world.

We strive to be a part of our community, embracing the effort to be connected to our neighborhood. Our students shop for their meals, visit workplaces, and tap into recreational opportunities. We prepare meticulously beforehand, take lots of pictures while we’re out, and process visits afterwards using computers, tablets, and journals. Our daily structured before-and-after efforts turn community outings into genuine learning opportunities and real connections.

We build our connections into vocational opportunities through partnership. Every student develops abilities with jobs that connect to their interests and abilities, fostering active participation that leads to long term impact. Our students hold jobs delivering surfing magazines, working in the State Parks visitor centers, helping out at a bus yard, and so much more. These community partnerships and jobs create invaluable opportunities for our students to learn vocational skills, take pride in their work, and connect with the people around us.

Become a partner in learning

The generous and enthusiastic organizations in our community make our mission possible. We are always on the lookout for new partners who help our students learn in the world. If your organization is interested in working with OASIS, we would love to hear from you.
